La Plata County Women in Business, managed by Ballantine Events, is an esteemed awards program celebrating outstanding women in La Plata County. This event honors those who have achieved excellence in their industry and made significant contributions to their community. Highlighting the occasion is the prestigious Outstanding Woman of the Year award, recognizing one exceptional woman among all of the nominees.

Requirements

This text briefly introduces visitors to your main services.

Nominees must reside and be actively engaged in business and the community within La Plata County.
Award recipients must consent to being photographed, interviewed for the La Plata County Women in Business website, and must participate in the 2024 Women in Business event.
Self-nominations are welcomed.
Committee will evaluate nominations based on the provided information and supporting documentation.

Times and Dates

Nominations will be accepted from 12:01 a.m. Sunday, June 16 until 11:59p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024. Honorees will be announced in September 2024. Event tickets will be available later this year.

Categories

Professionals

Recognizes women who work in sales, engineering, government, finance, real estate or any other professional industry.

Non-Profits & Volunteers

Recognizes women who work professionally or volunteer in the nonprofit world.

Business Owners

Women who own their own businesses. The business must have been in operation for a minimum of two years.

Emerging

High school or college student, or young workers under the age of 30. These women are emerging stars and have achieved measurable success.

Creative Industries

These women might be artists, performers, graphic designers, musicians, jewelers, photographers, potters and more.

Community Leader

Leaders in the community whether through their work, business or by volunteering. They promote the community in a positive way.

Health & Wellness

Honors doctors, fitness instructors, nurses, physicians associates, yoga instructors, alternative medicine providers, hospice workers, coaches, physical therapists and those who help us lead healthier lives.

Education & Childcare

Honoring teachers (from preschool to college professors), adult education specialists, special needs providers and all who work in youth development.

Women in Business Honoree Event

Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

This special event will honor the exceptional contributions and leadership of our distinguished honorees, recognizing their impactful roles and inspiring accomplishments. Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner while networking with industry leaders and peers, creating a memorable occasion that highlights the strength and success of women in business.
